Company Secretarial Assistant
1. Be at the heart of NFU Mutual’s governance, supporting Board activity, the AGM and key statutory processes.
2. Gain high exposure to senior stakeholders while building depth across company secretarial, reporting and charitable activity.
3. Hybrid role with 80% homeworking and 20% in Stratford-upon-Avon – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
About the role
You’ll play a key hands-on role within NFU Mutual’s Company Secretariat, supporting effective governance, statutory compliance and high quality board activity across the Group. Working closely with the Assistant Company Secretary and a small, experienced team, you’ll help plan and deliver subsidiary Board and Committee meetings from end to end – coordinating papers, attending meetings and accurately capturing minutes that stand up to scrutiny.
Alongside board support, you’ll be involved in a broad mix of governance and corporate activity, including statutory and regulatory filings, supporting the Report & Accounts cycle, and contributing to the delivery of the AGM. You’ll also help administer NFU Mutual’s Charitable Trust, working with internal partners and trustees to support meetings, manage enquiries and ensure timely, well structured reporting.
This is a varied role with real responsibility, requiring accuracy, discretion and confidence when engaging with senior stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Strategy, Marketing and the wider business. While hybrid working applies you’ll be in the office regularly to support face to face meetings and key governance activities, particularly during peak periods.
Interviews will take place week commencing 15th June in person at our head office in Stratford-upon-Avon with a start date of the beginning of August.

You’re organised, reliable and comfortable working in a role where quality and judgement really matter. You enjoy supporting formal processes, take pride in getting the detail right, and you’re confident working with senior stakeholders.
You’re also someone who works well as part of a close knit team, flexing your approach as priorities shift and deadlines move.
4. You’ll bring company secretarial knowledge and experience, with confidence in corporate governance processes, company law fundamentals and statutory obligations.
5. You’re an accurate and confident minute taker, able to produce clear, well structured records and supporting documentation.
6. You’re highly organised, managing multiple governance activities, deadlines and documentation with a calm, methodical approach.
