Job Summary
Early Years Educator (minimum Level 2 in Early Years). Full Time Post: 37.5 hours over a 9 day fortnight - Mon to Fri. Location: Wendy House Nursery, Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath. Inspected by Ofsted in January 2024, achieving a grade 'Good'.
Wendy House Nursery is an NHS workplace nursery that serves NHS employees. The post holder will have a full and relevant Level 2/3 Diploma in Early Years with experience of working in an EYFS setting. The nursery operates from 7:00 to 18:00 with staff working a variety of shifts; travel to Haywards Heath may be required.
Main duties of the job
* Work with colleagues to provide a high-quality childcare service in a safe and stimulating environment for children to play, learn and develop.
* Contribute to delivering an effective EYFS curriculum that supports children’s interests and development.
* Follow the nursery daily routine, working across indoors/outdoors learning areas and the local community.
* Engage with children in creative and sensory play.
* Be a Key Worker to a small group of children, supporting their care and educational needs.
* Provide caring support and maintain good communication with parents/carers and children, valuing diversity.
* Experience with SEND children is useful.
Qualifications and Experience
* Essential: Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Early Years; experience with children under 5; experience with Young Toddlers and Babies; experience with Parent Partnership Working; teamwork; knowledge of Early Years milestones; safeguarding and child protection; understanding of diversity and equality; health, hygiene and safety awareness.
* Desirable: Paediatric First Aid; Food Hygiene; experience as a Key Worker; experience in other Early Years settings; experience with Special Educational Needs and requirements; excellent verbal and written skills.
