About the Role
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a specialist secondary provision in Poulton-le-Fylde. This setting supports pupils aged 11–16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, offering a tailored curriculum designed to overcome barriers and promote success.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting students both academically and emotionally, fostering a nurturing environment that encourages personal growth and learning. Key Responsibilities
* Provide consistent, structured support to pupils with SEMH needs.
* Assist in the delivery of a bespoke curriculum tailored to individual learning requirements.
* Implement and support behaviour management strategies effectively.
* Collaborate with teaching staff to monitor and report on student progress.
* Support students in developing social skills and coping mechanisms.
* Engage in continuous professional development to enhance support strategies.
Requirements
* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
* A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable, but not required.
