About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join the finance team at a multi-million-pound manufacturing organisation, based in Sheffield, on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role requires an immediate start or availability at very short notice, making it ideal for a UK-qualified accountant ready to step into a dynamic corporate environment.\nKey ResponsibilitiesAccounting\n\nSchedule, coordinate, and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.\nLiaise with the FSSC on centralised sub-ledger processes.\nPrepare and review general ledger reconciliations and journal entries.\nAnalyse financial results against expectations, budgets, and forecasts.\nProvide technical accounting support to finance teams, senior management, and HQ.\nMentor and develop team members in the accounting department.\nEnsure compliance with accounting, tax, and company law changes.\nAct as the primary contact for external auditors, tax consultants, and authorities.\nOversee the preparation of statutory accounts for UK entities.Treasury\n\nManage short-term and long-term liquidity planning, optimising financial processes.\nOversee operational banking, coordinating with corporate bankers, FSSC, and Group Treasury.\nReport liquidity positions to senior management and process intercompany funding and hedging requirements.\nMentor and develop team members in the treasury department.Tax\n\nManage corporation tax, deferred tax, VAT, and other applicable tax filings.\nAct as the main contact for HMRC, external tax consultants, auditors, and corporate tax teams.\nInvestigate and resolve tax-related issues while identifying potential tax risks or opportunities.Qualifications & Experience\n\nUK-qualified accountant (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA).\nSeveral years of professional experience in a corporate finance function or practice.\nStrong leadership and management skills.\nExperience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).\nProficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).Benefits & Perks\n\nCompetitive salary - up to £60,000 per annum.\nGenerous holiday allowance - 30 days plus bank holidays.\nHybrid working options - balance office and remote work.\nFlexitime policy - core hours 9:30 AM - 3:30 PM, with flexibility.\nBank extra holiday - work additional hours and bank up to 6 extra days off.Why Join This Company?\n\nWork with a forward-thinking team in a large, corporate setting within the manufacturing industry.\nOpportunities to gain valuable experience in a leading organisation.\nEngage in diverse financial projects with strategic business impact.If you're interested in this role, please click apply or feel free to call me on (phone number removed) to learn more about this role.\n\nHays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
