Your new role
As a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator, you will be responsible for providing procedural andmercial support to contracts across Southwest Wales. You will be involved with the cost planning of frameworks for the public sector, reviewing project affordability, providingmercial advice and cost-saving methods of construction. You will also contribute to response quality for the element of bids and pre-qualifications andpilemercial and cost reports regularly.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience of working in a similar role, a related accredited construction qualification, excellent knowledge of Excel, knowledge of Evaluate, excellent knowledge of building techniques and methods and understanding of cost implications involved with different types of building methods and materials.
Summary of key responsibilities:
1. Preparing and estimating budget costs for construction by studying plans and specifications.
2. Evaluate offers to purchase by site requirements, additions, and costing changes.
3. Resolve cost differences by analysing and collecting info.
4. Write up and presents budgets, reports, and project plans.
5. Develops bids for construction projects.
6. Works closely with architects and other professionals.
7. Schedules meetings with clients, site managers, and staff.
8. Navigate and understand building codes.
9. Process paperwork and travel to building sites as required.
10. Monitor construction processes.
11. Stay up to date with safety codes and improvements in construction.
12. Construction Estimator Qualifications and Skills:
13. Strong maths skills including algebra, geometry, and basic arithmetic
14. Ability to navigate specifications and plans
15. Proficiency in demonstrating proposals and projects
16. Ability to handle multiple assignments at once
17. Knowledge of the latest building codes
18. Close attention to detail
19. Excellent written and verbalmunication skills
20. Familiarisation with Evaluate software would be advantageous.
21. Education and Experience Requirements:
22. Professional qualifications in quantity surveying / building estimation
23. A proven track record of estimating projects for residential dwellings &mercial up to £7m per annum.
24. Experience of working within affordable housing markets.

Please note you will be required to rotate around sites throughout Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion.
