We’re looking for a driven and commercially focused Account Manager to join our Commercial team within the RUK&I business, managing a key portfolio of customers across the construction sector. This is more than just a sales role – it’s about owning the full customer relationship, influencing business strategy, and driving commercial outcomes that deliver real value for both Tata Steel and our clients. What you will do: In this role, you’ll take full ownership of a portfolio of strategic construction accounts. You’ll develop deep, long-term relationships across multiple levels of your clients’ organisations – from procurement to operational and senior management – ensuring that Tata Steel is seen as a trusted, value-adding partner. You’ll manage commercial negotiations, build accurate forecasts, lead on service delivery planning, and monitor performance against annual plans. You’ll work closely with internal teams including Customer Services, Marketing, and Supply Chain to shape tailored service solutions that enhance customer satisfaction, reduce disputes, and optimise working capital. Crucially, you’ll be the voice of the customer within Tata Steel, translating needs into actionable plans, identifying risks and opportunities, and influencing internal priorities accordingly. You’ll also be a key contributor to sustainability conversations, collaborating with clients on joint carbon reduction goals. What you will need: To succeed, you’ll bring proven experience in account management, ideally within the construction or industrial sectors. You’ll be commercially astute, relationship-led, and highly organised – able to balance long-term strategic goals with day-to-day operational excellence. You’ll also demonstrate: Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the confidence to influence at senior levels A relentless drive to achieve results and exceed performance targets Analytical thinking and sound decision-making skills The ability to work collaboratively across internal teams to deliver a seamless customer experience A genuine passion for continuous improvement and business growth Ready to make a difference?
