A well-known Aerospace organisation are currently seeking an experienced Buyer to join a growing purchasing team in Gloucester.
* Role: Buyer
* Duration: 6-month contract
* Pay: Up to £25 p/hr (Inside IR35)
* Location: Gloucester (Fully onsite)
Key Responsibilities
* Manage purchasing activities within your scope, from sourcing through to contract management
* Lead supplier tendering, evaluation, and selection processes
* Negotiate commercial terms and support the drafting of supplier contracts
* Build and maintain effective supplier relationships
* Consolidate supplier performance assessments across quality, logistics, and cost
* Drive supplier improvement and cost-reduction action plans
* Maintain accurate purchasing data within procurement systems
* Identify and resolve issues and disputes in a proactive manner
* Support sourcing start-up activities and supplier onboarding
* You will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers, contributing to supplier performance, cost optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives
Key Requirements
* Experience within Aerospace, Defence or similar environments
* Proven knowledge of purchasing methodologies and P2P processes
* Experience working within a purchasing team using procurement information systems
* Strong numerical and analytical skills
* Indirect purchasing experience
* Good understanding of industrial, purchasing, and contractual/legal principles
* Proven ability to prioritise tasks and manage tasks across multiple sites
