Are you a wine lover with a flair for words and a talent for hosting unforgettable events? We’re looking for a creative, organized, and personable Bottle Shop Assistant Manager to help lead our retail operation at The Old Bridge, a highly respected bottle shop attached to The Old Bridge in Huntingdon.
This is a unique opportunity to blend your passion for wine with your skills in copywriting, customer engagement, and event coordination, all while enjoying a healthy work-life balance.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Lead day-to-day operations of the bottle shop, ensuring a welcoming, professional, and engaging retail environment
* Write compelling product descriptions, newsletters, tasting notes, and marketing copy that captures the voice and ethos of Old Bridge Wines
* Organize and host regular wine tastings and events (in-shop and collaborative with The Old Bridge) that engage our customer base and attract new wine enthusiasts
* Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier relationships
* Assist with creating content for the bottle shop social media platforms
* Provide outstanding customer service, offering expert guidance and recommendations
* Build strong relationships with our loyal customer base and local community
* Maintain the shop’s visual standards, merchandising, and digital presence
* Help lead the in-house training programme for all Old Bridge employees

* Have a solid knowledge of and genuine passion for wine (WSET qualification L2 or equivalent desirable)
