Lecturer in Public Services (Full Time, Part time and/or Sessional)
Location: Loughborough, Leicestershire
Salary: £31,317 – £36,706 per annum (pro rata for part time)
Contract: Permanent. Employer: Loughborough College.
We are recruiting a Lecturer in Public Services to join our team at Loughborough College. Public Services is a successful curriculum team with over 250 learners, offering BTEC provision from Level 1 up to Level 3. This role will teach within the Public Services provision and requires a relevant degree, a teaching qualification, and significant knowledge of the public services area, preferably with vocational experience in further education.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high quality, challenging teaching and learning across relevant topics including Principles of Managing Security threats, Government and Protective Services, Citizenship and Diversity, Fitness, Global affairs, and Teamwork.
* Plan, assess and support learner progress to ensure target grades are met and all learners achieve to their best ability.
* Support mandatory residential trips as part of the Public Services programmes.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and adopt innovative teaching and learning delivery modes.
* Engage with student support and safeguarding duties, including DBS checks.
Qualifications and Experience
* Relevant bachelor’s degree or above.
* Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertTESOL/EFL, NVQ qualifications).
* Experience teaching or working in a vocational/FE environment.
* In‑depth knowledge of public services and related sectors.
