Tractor Driver & Workshop Engineer – Essex + £37,128 per year + subsidised accommodation
The Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Tractor Driver & Workshop Engineer to join a well-established family-run arable farm in Essex. The business grows potatoes, wheat, barley, peas, beans, and linseed, and is now seeking a reliable, skilled individual to contribute to both seasonal tractor operations and year-round workshop engineering.
Responsibilities
* Operating tractors for potato harvesting (May–October) and general arable duties
* Running irrigation systems and managing grading when required
* Overseeing workshop operations, including servicing, fault diagnosis, and repairs
* Carrying out preventative maintenance and resolving machinery issues quickly
* Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
Qualifications
* Experienced tractor driver with proven arable background
* Strong engineering skills, with ability to work on machinery, including modern electronics
* Organised, methodical, and reliable; takes pride in machinery upkeep
* Flexible and committed, able to adapt to seasonal workload demands
The Package
* Salary: £37,128 per year
* Accommodation provided at a subsidised rate (£250/month; market value ~£750)
