We are looking for a Resilience Lead to join our Group Resilience team in Group Control, facing off to the BUK business. The ideal candidate would have experience working in Retail Banking, managing risk, influencing senior stakeholders (up to Managing Director, Exco level), along with excellent organization, project planning, communication, and data analysis skills.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* Experience working in a risk, control, resilience, or security role.
* Experience managing senior stakeholders.
* Leadership and influencing skills in a matrix team environment.
Additional skills include:
* Experience in Operational Resilience, understanding relevant regulations.
* Governance and reporting expertise.
* Technology awareness.
This role can be based in Knutsford or Glasgow.
Purpose of the role
Develop, implement, and maintain an effective resilience strategy, operational recovery planning, and incident management framework aligned with industry standards and regulatory expectations, to enable the bank to respond and recover important business services during severe but plausible scenarios, minimizing impacts on customers, clients, colleagues, and the wider market.
Accountabilities
1. Socialize and implement the resilience strategy and framework across the firm, ensuring compliance.
2. Enhance the resilience, crisis, and incident management frameworks to improve recovery and response capabilities.
3. Set standards and controls for operational recovery planning and security incident management, considering emerging threats and regulatory requirements.
4. Oversee improvements in business and technology recovery capabilities, including third-party providers, to ensure service continuity.
5. Communicate the firm’s resilience status through clear dashboards and scorecards for decision-making.
6. Regularly test and demonstrate the organization’s ability to recover within impact tolerances.
7. Ensure services and products are resiliently designed through change management processes.
8. Stay informed about developments in resilience, regulations, and the landscape.
9. Identify, respond to, and resolve incidents threatening services and operations.
10. Analyze past incidents to improve preventative measures and processes.
11. Contribute to strategy, resource planning, policy management, and continuous improvement.
12. If managing a team, define roles, plan for future needs, and lead performance and development.
13. Demonstrate leadership behaviors to foster a positive environment.
14. Guide technical teams, lead projects, and influence long-term strategic decisions.
15. Advise stakeholders on impact and alignment of resilience initiatives.
16. Manage risks and strengthen controls.
17. Collaborate across functions to support business strategies.
18. Develop solutions through sophisticated analysis and research.
19. Build and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders using influencing skills.
