We are currently seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a growing regional civil engineering contractor based in Rugby, Warwickshire. The company specialises in commercial groundworks projects across the Midlands, typically up to £5 million in value. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their QS career within a supportive and hands-on environment.
The successful candidate will have at least 6 months of experience working for a civil engineering or groundworks contractor, ideally with exposure to drainage, foundations, external works, roads, or S278 schemes. Youll work closely with a Senior Quantity Surveyor and site teams to assist with the measurement, valuation, and commercial control of ongoing projects.
Key responsibilities will include assisting with cost plans, subcontractor procurement, valuations, and monthly reporting. Youll also be expected to carry out site visits and liaise with project teams to ensure accurate tracking of costs and variations.
Applicants should have strong numerical and communication skills, and be studying towards or have recently completed a qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management. A full UK driving licence is preferred due to site travel.
