As part of our senior leadership restructure, this post has been developed to ensure effective delivery of adult social care services across the City of York in line with our vision. This is a unique chance to carve out strategic leadership across Adult Social Care in York to support people to live the life they want. As Principal Occupational Therapist you will work in close partnership with the Principal Social Worker and senior leadership team to optimise practice quality outcomes and drive preventative, personalised, strengths-based, social care services and practice that focus on enablement and optimising the independence and wellbeing of our population.

Responsibilities
As well as working with colleagues across the Council, you will also work closely with our partners and stakeholders to transform the way our services are delivered, working collaboratively to develop solutions and new ways of working. We are therefore looking for an outstanding leader with a proven track record of improving and transforming services at a senior level, including demonstrable experience of positively changing culture and behaviours. You will need to be determined and have excellent skills in developing partnerships and high performing teams.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express themselves fluently and spontaneously. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.
Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
