Main Duties
* Provide exemplary pharmacy service in accordance with current legislation, accepted professional and ethical standards and clinical requirements.
* Advise and support consultants, other clinicians and patients to ensure safe, appropriate and cost‑effective use of medicines.
* Advise the hospital and its departments on safe management of medicines, ensuring compliance with legislation and professional standards.
* Promote a multidisciplinary, patient‑focused approach to delivering an efficient, high‑quality healthcare service.
* Assess the health and well‑being of patients whose needs may be complex and changing within the context of their medicines.
* Plan, monitor and evaluate the movement of medicines.
* Establish and maintain effective communication with various individuals and groups on complex, sensitive and occasionally contentious issues.
* Contribute to quality improvement.
Qualifications
* Master's degree in pharmacy, or equivalent at the time of qualification.
* Current member of the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Experience applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient requirements.
* Previous experience as a pharmacist within a hospital setting or community.
* Experience working in partnership with consultants and across clinical teams.
* Effective stock and budgetary control skills.
* Proficiency in equipment and medical device competencies.
* Commitment to continuing professional development in pharmaceutical activities.
