About the role: The Critical Care Transport‑Paramedic (CCT‑P) is a Pennsylvania certified Critical Care Paramedic responsible for providing emergency, non‑emergency, pre‑hospital, and inter‑facility care to patients in a safe and efficient manner.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
* Administer basic, advanced, and critical care life support to patients at a scene, en route, and inter‑facility in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and the Pennsylvania Department of Health Bureau of Emergency Medical Services scope of practice.
* Assess injury or illness to establish and prioritize medical procedures.
* Rescue and extricate victims of accidents, sudden illness, or entrapment using proper rescue and medical techniques.
* Treat patients at the scene, en route, and in an inter‑facility setting per regulations.
* Communicate with professional medical personnel and treatment facilities for instructions and patient acceptance.
* Maintain order at scenes, ensuring safety and managing crowds and family members.
* Complete patient care forms, insurance and evaluation forms, ambulance checklists, and other required documentation promptly.
* Demonstrate competency in patient assessment, treatment range, and age‑appropriate communication.
* Collaborate with other health team members to maintain professional relationships.
* Document assessments, findings, and treatment rendered in pre‑hospital and inter‑facility settings on approved trip records in a timely manner.
Physical And Sensory Requirements
Sitting up to 3 hours a day; standing up to 2 hours; walking up to 3 hours; continuous use of hands and fingers; frequently grasping, twisting, and lifting between 200 and 350 pounds; occasionally lifting 11‑25 pounds; frequently stooping, bending, squatting, crouching, kneeling, crawling or climbing; must perceive tactile and auditory cues; must see clearly at near, far, color, and peripheral vision; maintain balance; speak clearly under stress; communicate in English; cooperate with others.
Education & Training
* High School Diploma.
* Critical Care Paramedic or Flight Paramedic certification (CC‑P or FP‑C). Either certificate must be obtained within one year of hire.
* PA certification as a Paramedic with 3 years’ experience.
* Current BCLS, PALS, PEPP, ACLS, PHTLS, or ITLS certification.
* EVOC/EVDT certification, driver’s license, and PA DOH driver requirements.
* Free of drug or alcohol impairment; free of physical/mental conditions that impair driving, caregiving or safe ambulance operation.
* Hazardous materials R&I certification or higher; NIMS 100‑800 preferred.
