English Faculty of English, The Stephen A Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities, Woodstock Road, Oxford Operations Manager Location The Stephen A Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities, Woodstock Road, Oxford, Salary Grade 7: £39,424 - £47,779 per annum Contract type Permanent Hours Full time (37.5/ 1 FTE) About the role The Faculty of English is seeking to appoint an Operations Manager who will be responsible for the smooth running of all operational functions and services within the Faculty, including office management, health and safety, IT provision and governance. They will line manage the Faculty Office team (3 posts), ensuring that the team provides professional and effective administrative support to the wider administrative team as well as key operational services to students, academic staff and visitors, and will be responsible for day to day liaison with the Schwarzman Centre Building Operations and IT teams. This is a senior role which involves overseeing a wide range of administrative activities and projects to ensure the smooth running of the Faculty. The postholder will also be part of the Faculty’s senior management team responsible for ensuring that the Faculty’s professional services team provide efficient and effective support for all of the Faculty’s activities and strategic priorities. Due to the nature of the role and the requirement to oversee the Faculty’s primary office and front of house functions, the postholder will normally be required to work on site 5 days a week, although there may be scope for occasional remote working. About you You will be educated to degree level or equivalent experience and have significant administrative experience in a higher education institution or similar environment. You will have experience of managing a complex portfolio of activities and managing change, with a proven ability to lead and manage a small team, including mentoring, performance oversight and workload allocation. You will have a demonstrated ability to identify problems, propose practical solutions, and implement processes and improvements to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
