A new exciting opportunity has arisen for three additional skilled, motivated and compassionate nurses with relevant experience in caring for children with life threatening/limiting conditions. Our established, passionate, and dedicated Children’s Palliative Care Nursing Service delivers high quality and holistic child centred care to CYP who require nursing interventions. Focus of care will be on quality of life, supporting the child/young person and family through their palliative care journey and end of life phase whilst in their own home. We require someone who is passionate about palliative care and can make a difference to the lives of children and young people (CYP) and their family. The post holder will be required to support families to ensure all aspects of social, emotional, practical, and nursing needs are met.

Qualifications / Training
1. RSCN/RN Child Branch
2. ENB 998 (Teaching & Assessing in Clinical Practice) or equivalent
Experience
3. Experience of working with children with life limiting/ threatening illnesses and end of life
4. Significant experience of working as a Children’s Nurse either RSCN/RN Child
Skills/Knowledge
5. Ability to manage team on a day to day basis in the absence of the Team Leader/Children’s Palliative Care Lead
6. Demonstrate knowledge relating to child protection issues and procedures
7. Evidence of assessment skills and use of nursing process and nurse models
8. Demonstrate sound use and application of NMC Code of Conduct and scope of professional care
9. Demonstrate knowledge of current legislative changes affecting NHS and Social Services particularly those affecting community care

What do the Armed Forces & Veterans Services (AF&VS) Team do?
This Team work with delivery partners to provide a range of trusted and efficient services to both service personnel and Veterans' communities. For current serving members of the Armed Forces this includes:
· Personnel support processes;
· Pay, Pensions & Allowances;
· The Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre; and,
· The MOD Medals Office.
For service Veterans and their dependants, we provide support by administering the Armed Forces Pension Schemes, compensation payments for those injured or bereaved through service, and providing a package of welfare for Veterans. We also provide information and support to service leavers and their families as they leave the Armed Forces and transition to civilian life.
We also manage the Ilford Park nursing home for Polish Veterans and their families.
The positions are advertised at 37 hour per week full time. Part time positions are available.

The purpose of this role is to provide accurate verbal and written medical advice and statutory certification in respect of claims, reviews and appeals for the War Pension Scheme and Armed Forces Compensation Scheme. No prior knowledge of the compensation scheme/s is required.
The role can be office based with some homeworking and requires no clinical contact with those applying for the schemes. The successful candidate will annually undertake continuous professional development activity to keep knowledge in medicine and legislation up to date. They will also support operational delivery by demonstrating an understanding of key performance indicators and business pressures.
