Job Summary

Are you confident and outgoing with an interest in patient care and wider health and well‑being? We are seeking to recruit two well‑organised, dedicated and committed Tobacco Dependency Advisors, one based at Colchester and one at Ipswich, with travel to other sites as required.

You will deliver and promote the Tobacco Treatment Services at ESNEFT hospital sites, working collaboratively with clinical staff and partners, putting patients at the heart of the service.

You will be regularly working in demanding clinical and public areas, dealing face‑to‑face with patients and visitors, many with complex needs.

A successful candidate will work unsupervised for the majority of the time but will be supported by the Tobacco Treatment Operational Co‑ordinator and the wider Health Inequalities Team as required; consequently you should have the ability to work both independently and within a team.

Working a 5‑day week you should be flexible to work on Saturdays or Sundays to enable the delivery of a 6‑day‑a‑week service.

Responsibilities

* Educate and train staff to deliver Very Brief Advice (VBA)
* Deliver the Tobacco Treatment Services at ENSEFT hospital sites
* Promote the service throughout the hospital, delivering and taking part in promotional events both in the hospital and at community outreach days
* Issue pharmaceutical products to patients, staff and visitors as appropriate and in accordance with ESNEFT Tobacco Treatment Service Protocols
* Access and input information into databases to support the monitoring of the service Key Performance Indicators
* Refer patients to stop‑smoking services and community pathways
* Work as part of a team
* Maintain flexibility to work across a 6‑day week

Benefits

As part of ESNEFT, you will enjoy a wide range of training and development opportunities, flexible working options, a generous pension scheme, unsocial hours payments (where applicable), 27 days annual leave on commencement (pro‑rata) and access to a range of NHS discounts. The Staff Health & Wellbeing programme offers a variety of services to support you.
