Broking Team Leader – Schemes
📍 Leicester / Northampton | Hybrid | Permanent – Full-Time
We’re looking for a dynamic and hands-on Broking Team Leader to join the high-performing Schemes Team of a leading UK broker. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a talented team, drive operational excellence, and deliver outstanding client service across a diverse portfolio of scheme-based insurance solutions.
The Schemes Team is known for its energy, collaboration, and advice-led approach. They work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment — serving clients from sole traders to multi-site operations — and pride themselves on exceptional service, delivered entirely through remote communication.
The Role
As Broking Team Leader, you’ll:
* Lead, coach, and develop brokers in both the SME and Affinities teams
* Oversee daily operations, ensuring service levels, compliance, and workflows are on track
* Act as a key escalation point for complex queries and decision-making
* Support all aspects of broking activity — renewals, MTAs, new business, and client servicing
* Work closely with underwriting, compliance, claims, and finance to deliver seamless client outcomes
* Monitor performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement positive change
* Cover two sites across Leicester and Northampton, which will require fairly regular travel
About You
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
* Experience in a broking or insurance environment
* Previous supervisory or leadership experience
* Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
* Solid understanding of FCA regulations and insurance principles
* Proficiency in broking systems and Microsoft Office
Desirable: Cert CII (or working towards it), experience across both personal and commercial lines, familiarity with Applied Epic, and a track record in driving continuous improvement.
