As a Deputy Electrical Senior Authorised Engineer you will oversee electrical, control and instrumentation strategy generation, deployment and monitoring across the Springfields site, the strategy being driven down through a group of Area Electrical Engineers.

You will report to the Head of Engineering Governance who is also the Electrical Senior Authorised Engineer for the site. You will also interface and coordinate activities with the site's Area Electrical Engineers, plant managers, other intelligent customers and business leaders in the deployment of the governance activities.

The role will be office-based but some opportunities for home working will be available.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Adherence to company safety rules/procedures and evidence of compliance with legislative and regulatory standards in a regulated industry. Take a proactive role with regards to all aspects of Conventional and Nuclear Safety.

2. Deliver CE&I engineering governance, setting standards through the Springfields Site procedures, guiding CE&I engineering through the various areas / engineering forums, monitoring performance via metrics / audits and taking corrective action where required to bring the metric performance back into compliance.

3. To ensure that CE&I engineering processes on site meet the appropriate national / international standards, Nuclear Site Licence Conditions (UK ONR SLC's, SAPs & SFL EDSPs) and comply with the UK Construction Design & Management (2015) Regulations.

4. Oversee the governance of the site 11KV distribution system, approving switching programs, overseeing the 11KV engineering, overseeing protection studies and having input into any electrical distribution related projects.

5. Carry out Design Authority functions as part of major and minor new projects.

6. Work with other engineering disciplines, stakeholders, engineers and the wider Springfields team.

7. Apply Human Factors principles throughout the undertaking of all engineering works.

8. Experience and a desire to support & mentor less experienced engineers, graduates and apprentices.

9. Maintain compliance with mandatory WEC training and pursue external courses to support ongoing professional development (CPD). Some training may require travel and overnight stays.

10. Opportunities will also be available to deploy skills across the site's wider engineering activities within areas such as COMAH oversight, process safety and other similar activities.

Qualifications:

Experience Required: Minimum 10 years in a relevant CE&I engineering environment, ideally within the nuclear or similarly regulated industry.

Preferred Qualifications: C Eng / MIET / FIET. Candidates with I Eng actively pursuing chartered status will also be considered.

Key Skills & Competencies:

11. Strong team player with a proactive, safety-conscious mindset

12. Proven experience in CE&I engineering governance

13. Preferably worked within a Design Authority or similar oversight function

14. Familiarity with 11KV electrical distribution systems is a plus

15. Proficient in BS7671 (18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations)

16. Knowledge of CE&I standards and regulations (national/international)

17. Understanding of Human Factors and Functional Safety (IEC 61508/61511, SIL levels)
