Parts Finishing Operative Due to continued growth and ongoing improvements within the business, Smiths Engineering is looking to recruit a Parts Finishing Operative. The successful candidate will be responsible for using air-powered tools and hand-finishing techniques to prepare machined components for further treatments. Full training will be provided, but previous experience in a similar environment is beneficial. Key Responsibilities Finishing and preparing machined components using air tools and hand tools Using orbital sanders and other air-powered finishing equipment Working to technical drawings and specifications Ensuring all work meets required quality standards Maintaining a clean and safe working environment Desirable Skills & Experience Experience using air tools (e.g., orbital sanders) Competency in finishing machined or fabricated parts Ability to read and interpret technical drawings Strong attention to detail and quality-focused approach Working Hours & Benefits Dayshift: Monday to Friday (39-hour contract) Flexible working pattern may be available after training Reduced-hours contracts may be considered Competitive rate of pay
