What You’ll Gain

Hours & Pay
* Full-time: 35–40 hours per week (Monday–Friday in nursery, or varied hours in Out of School Care settings).
* Rate of Pay: £7.55 per hour (National Minimum Wage for Modern Apprentices).
As a Modern Apprentice, You Will
* Work towards a SCQF Level 7 qualification in partnership with Carousel Training Centre and your Employer.
* Attend monthly training classes and receive regular support from an Assessor.
* Gain the SVQ in Social Services (Children and Young People).
* Build the skills and knowledge to become a qualified Early Years Practitioner in just 12–15 months.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with the staff team to create a safe, positive environment for children.
* Be a valued member of a team.
* Support staff in delivering fun, active, and educational activities.
* Gain hands-on experience with children from babies to pre-school age.
* Learn how children develop through creative play and activities.
* Support with personal care tasks (toileting, dressing, feeding).
* Engage with parents/carers to support each child’s learning journey.
* Help with nursery routines, including snack preparation and cleaning equipment.
* Following nursery safeguarding procedures to ensure all children are safe and secure.
What We’re Looking For
* Enthusiastic and confident individuals who want to work in a Nursery or Out of School Care setting.
* Good communication skills and a genuine desire to support the development of young children.
* The ability to engage and interact enthusiastically with children.
No previous experience is required — just passion, commitment, and a willingness to learn.
