Senior Data Engineer – £120,000 + Benefits – Digital Transformation – Azure & Snowflake – London
Explore Group have partnered with a market-leading digital transformation firm to support them with a key strategic hire within their data function. The organisation is investing heavily in modernising its enterprise data platform to drive data-led decision-making across multiple business units.
The Role:
As the business continues to scale its cloud and data capabilities, they are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Data Engineer to play a critical role in building and enhancing their enterprise-grade data platform. If successful, you will work within a high-performing data team designing and delivering scalable Azure-based data pipelines and warehousing solutions that underpin analytics, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives.
Responsibilities / Requirements:
* 7+ years’ experience in software engineering or data engineering roles
* Experience working with Snowflake in production environments
* Proven experience building scalable ETL / ELT pipelines (batch and micro-batch workloads)
* Commercial experience designing and maintaining data warehouse models (fact/dimension tables, star & snowflake schemas)
* Strong SQL expertise including complex query optimisation and data transformation logic
* Solid understanding of data warehousing methodologies (Kimball / Inmon)
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience supporting BI and reporting teams
* Experience working with large-scale, enterprise data environments
Nice to Have:
* Advanced Snowflake optimisation and performance tuning
* Python and/or Databricks experience
* Experience contributing to end-to-end data platform architecture
* Exposure to CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code principles
