Job Description: Job Title: Porter Trust: Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust Location: Royal Berkshire Hospital, London Road, Reading RG1 5AN Shift Pattern: Monday–Sunday - various shifts between on rota basis (7am-7pm, 10pm-6am) Pay: £12.51ph About the Trust: Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest general hospital foundation trusts in the country and the main provider of acute and specialist care services for West Berkshire. Job Duties · Provide a portering and messenger service, including the transfer of patients and visitors between wards and departments including A&E admissions to wards and transfers between A&E, X-ray and wards. · Collect and deliver a range of goods including, drugs, bloods, furniture, feed bottles, case notes, specimens, x-rays and medical gas cylinders. · Responsible for the regular and sufficient removal of general, recycling and clinical waste. · Ensure all waste streams are segregated, handled, and disposed of in line with the site requirements. · Comply with the health and safety procedures when moving waste around the site. · Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
