We are seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support our laboratory operations, focusing on sample processing and data accuracy for our clients. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the successful candidate will gain experience in a molecular laboratory within a dynamic, collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Sample reception: Receive and process client eDNA samples, ensuring compliance with import licenses; maintain data records in ERP and LIMS systems to ensure accurate communication across teams and KPIs.
* Laboratory operations: Manage stock, maintain cleanliness and safety, handle waste, receive and manage goods, prepare laboratory kits and reagents, and perform administrative tasks to ensure smooth laboratory functioning.
* Equipment management: Oversee equipment lifecycle, including onboarding, maintenance, troubleshooting, and offboarding.
* Compliance: Follow laboratory protocols and adhere to health and safety standards, including COSHH and risk assessments.

About you
We seek a proactive, detail-oriented individual passionate about laboratory operations and molecular biology. The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience in a commercial laboratory and familiarity with LIMS (training provided)
* Strong communication skills
* Attention to detail and protocol adherence
* Basic computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Ability to work independently and in a team
