Farol Ltd is an extremely successful family-owned, multisite agricultural and groundcare business. Established in 1976 and now employing over 300 people, we are the market leaders in agriculture, groundcare and homeowner products, holding the market leading John Deere franchise along with many other brands.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Manager to join the Service department at our Head Office just outside Thame, Oxfordshire. Your role will be to lead the department, managing a team of approximately 20 Technicians, to ensure the smooth running of the workshop.
Your Main Duties Will Include
* Utilising our scheduler and planning tools, allocating internal and walk-in work for the technicians based on their expertise and skill, following the work through to invoicing
* WIP Management
* Managing all people-related activity for the workshop, including regular appraisals and performance review procedures
* Coaching and mentoring members of the team offering regular feedback to employees on performance
* Administration/approval of time-clock information and the processing of overtime
* Ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to in relation to HR & health and safety
* Maintaining strong communication with our Central Service Team, ensuring work scheduled within the workshop is completed in a timely manner, to the standards required
* Developing retail sales revenue through the promotion of both the Service and Parts departments to both existing and new customers where appropriate
* Ensuring our customer service levels meet our customers’ needs whilst maintaining a first-class standard of service at all times
Person Specification
Requirements
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role (such as Service Manager or Workshop Manager), ideally in the Agricultural, Groundcare or Construction industries. However, candidates from other industries will be considered if you can demonstrate that you meet the requirements below:
* Comfortable managing all people/HR-related activities at a local level (with support from the Group HR team)
* Experience with scheduling work for a team of technicians/invoicing & WIP management
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – able to quickly build positive relationships with colleagues and customers
* Excellent organisational ability
* Strong coaching & motivational skills
* Able to drive efficiencies and improve KPI performances
* Excellent attention to detail – able to follow a task through from beginning to end
Package details
Basic salary of approximately £40k - £45k (dependent on experience) plus generous bonus scheme, 20 days holiday increasing by 1 day for each completed year of service up to a maximum of 25 days (plus Bank Holidays), company pension and financial planning service.
