SEN Teaching Assistant – Castle Cary
Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 08:45-15:15 | ASAP Start
Prospero Teaching are looking for a passionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Castle Cary. This is a full-time, ongoing position supporting a Year 2 pupil 1:1 who is currently presenting challenging behaviour.
The school are seeking someone calm, patient and confident in helping children regulate emotions, manage behaviour and access learning in a positive, structured way.
About the Role
1. Supporting a Year 2 pupil 1:1 with challenging behaviour
2. Providing consistent emotional and behavioural support
3. Working closely with class teachers and the SENCO
4. Helping the pupil engage in learning and daily routines
5. Creating a safe, trusting, supportive environment
Hours & Location
6. Monday to Friday
7. 08:45 – 15:15
8. Based in Castle Cary
9. Full-time, long-term
Requirements
10. Experience supporting challenging behaviour, SEMH or SEN
11. A calm, nurturing and resilient approach
12. Ability to build positive, trusting relationships
13. Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
14. Right to work in the UK
