Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Food Preparation Worker to join our team. This role involves assisting in the preparation and presentation of meals in a fast-paced catering or restaurant environment. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring high standards of food safety and quality, contributing to a smooth kitchen operation. Previous experience in food service or culinary settings is advantageous, but training will be provided for the right candidate.
Duties
* Assist with meal preparation, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients
* Support chefs and kitchen staff in cooking and plating dishes
* Prepare ingredients according to specified recipes and standards
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
* Ensure all food is stored correctly and labelled appropriately
* Serve food to customers or assist with serving during busy periods
* Follow hygiene protocols diligently to uphold health and safety standards
* Help with inventory management by organising supplies and notifying management of stock levels
Experience
* Previous experience in catering, restaurant, or kitchen environments is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for motivated individuals
* Familiarity with food safety procedures and hygiene standards is beneficial
* Experience in meal preparation, cooking, or general food handling is advantageous
* Knowledge of serving procedures within a hospitality setting is a plus
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
* Good organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
