A Snapshot Of Your Day
As a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) supporting our Small Gas Turbines (SGT) business, your day will involve engaging with global suppliers to ensure component and process quality across the supply chain. You’ll manage product qualifications, lead investigations into non-conformances, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Internally, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold Siemens Energy’s quality standards. Building strong supplier relationships and driving results will be key to your success.
How You’ll Make An Impact
* Lead product and process qualifications (PPQ) and fixed process change approvals following Siemens Energy procedures.
* Collaborate with suppliers to resolve non-conformances and implement containment and corrective actions.
* Drive supplier quality improvements through performance monitoring, risk mitigation, and preventive actions.
* Conduct supplier assessments and audits, supporting qualification activities and compliance with Siemens Energy quality standards.
* Utilise root cause analysis techniques (5 Why, FMEA, 8D, RCA) to manage and close out supplier quality issues.
* Monitor and report supplier performance KPIs, managing risks as needed.
* Act as a key interface between suppliers and Siemens Energy to promote long-term quality improvement.
What You Bring
* A solid engineering background, either time-served or degree-qualified, with experience in manufacturing, quality, or R&D.
* Proven experience managing product qualifications (PPAP, APQP) and resolving supplier quality issues.
* Understanding of inspection methodologies, GD&T, and quality documentation.
* Proficiency in quality tools and systems such as ISO 9001, FMEA, 8D, and conducting supplier audits.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working across cultural boundaries and organizational levels.
* Excellent IT and data analysis skills (Excel, data interpretation).
* Willingness to travel as required to support suppliers and internal stakeholders.
