Overview
We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Design Technology (DT) Teacher to join secondary schools in the Ipswich area. The successful candidate will inspire students across Key Stage 3 and 4, encouraging innovation, problem-solving and practical skills in areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, Textiles or Food Technology (depending on specialism). Starting ASAP.
Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare and deliver engaging DT lessons that meet the national curriculum and exam board requirements.
* Promote hands-on learning through practical projects and workshops, ensuring safe and effective use of specialist equipment.
* Differentiate lessons to support students of varying abilities and learning styles.
* Assess and track student progress, providing feedback to drive improvement and achievement.
* Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development and extracurricular activities such as design clubs or competitions.
* Maintain high standards of health & safety in all practical sessions.
Qualifications
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent.
* Strong subject knowledge in Design Technology and experience with specialist equipment.
* Excellent classroom management and organisational skills as a Design Technology Teacher.
* Ability to inspire creativity and critical thinking in students.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
