Job Title: Trainee Mortgage Adviser
PLEASE NOTE: Due to being at the final stages of this intake, you MUST be able to commit to the start date of Tuesday 26th May 2026 to be considered, please ensure your notice period fits within this.
The next intake will take place in May 2026. Our office is located at Wakefield WF2 0XG. You will work full time at our office during training. Upon completion, with your CeMAP qualifications, you will become a full-time home-based Mortgage and Protection Adviser.
Daily Commute
You must have your own vehicle to commute to our offices as required, or live locally enough to have a short commute via a reliable form of public transport (within 45 minutes).
Target
Candidates with a strong desire to work within the Financial Services arena, with a proven track record in customer service and/or sales.
Year One Rewards
During the first 12 months, salary guarantee of £30,000: basic £26,600 plus guaranteed commission £3,400. Additional commissions above £3,400 are yours. Bonus top up at the end of 12 months if targets exceeded. Overtime available.
After 12 Months
Promoted to Senior Trainee. Basic salary £27,500 plus commission and bonus, OTE £40k–£45k.
CeMAP Support
Full financial support to gain CeMAP Mortgage Adviser qualifications, including study materials and all exam entry costs.
Working Hours
Rotating rota: early (9:00–18:00) and late (11:00–20:00), working every other weekend (10:00–19:00). Must be able to commit to these hours.
Responsibilities
You will be the first point of contact for customers. Your role will involve making and receiving calls to customers referred by national house-builder clients. You will accurately record their details as part of the mortgage application, partially complete a fact find and research lenders' affordability and criteria, utilising sales and customer service experience to arrange an appointment with a specialist Mortgage Adviser.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
* Strong desire to work within the Financial Services industry, particularly within mortgages and protection.
* Track record in customer service and sales.
* Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with outstanding communication and listening skills, able to explain complex information clearly.
* Organised, disciplined and structured approach to work.
* Highly competent user of IT and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
