About You The Communications and Media Officer is a multi-disciplined role, with responsibility for utilising the expert knowledge of our membership to create content on important microbiological topics for a variety of audiences, including the media, working to identify science news and stories across journal and membership activities to support the delivery of the Society’s objective to advance understanding of microbiology. With excellent storytelling skills, the postholder explain important microbiology research to a range of audiences through digital channels, supporting the Content and Engagement Manager and Head of Engagement and Storytelling to play a critical role in engaging our community, the public and the media with microbiology research to maximise its impact. The successful candidate will have experience using communication materials such as news stories and case studies along with strong comunciation skills to explain complex scientific information in clear, concise language. They should also have experience producing and editing video and/or audio content, using software such as Adobe Premier Pro and Audition.
