Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days in office, 2 days remote)

The role
As a Senior or Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take a lead role in the delivery of mechanical design solutions across a range of building services projects. You will be responsible for technical leadership, design management, and coordination, as well as supporting the development of junior engineers within the team.
Key responsibilities
* Leading the mechanical design process across commercial, residential, educational, and data centre projects.
* Managing and coordinating design activities from concept through to completion.
* Ensuring design quality and compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and client requirements.
* Providing technical guidance and mentorship to project and design engineers.
* Contributing to project planning, resource management, and delivery timelines.
* Liaising effectively with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams.
About you
The successful candidate will be an experienced and driven mechanical design engineer with a proven track record in building services consultancy environments. You will demonstrate strong technical capability, project leadership skills, and a collaborative approach to design and delivery.
Essential skills and experience
* Degree‑qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards Chartership.
* Significant experience in the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects.
* Comprehensive understanding of UK Building Regulations, standards, and sustainable design practices.
* Excellent communication, coordination, and client engagement skills.
* Experience in leading multidisciplinary design teams.
