The role
This is a varied and client‑focused position, managing a diverse portfolio of SMEs. You'll be responsible for accounts, tax, and advisory work, while also playing a key role in supporting the team and driving service standards across the firm.
Key responsibilities
* Managing a portfolio of clients, delivering high‑quality accounting and advisory services
* Preparing and reviewing year‑end accounts under FRS102, FRS102A, and FRS105
* Producing corporation tax computations and CT600s
* Reviewing VAT returns
* Leading, mentoring, and supporting a team of accountants and admin staff
* Identifying growth opportunities and supporting business development
* Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and internal quality standards
* Acting as the main point of contact for key clients
About you
* ACA/ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience)
* Technically strong in UK GAAP, with experience across a range of SMEs
* Able to manage full accounts production through to sign‑off
* An excellent communicator and client relationship builder
* Organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
* Keen to support and develop junior members of the team
