Diagnostic Technician – Ilkeston Independent Garage
1. Basic Salary: Up to £43,000 depending on experience
2. Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:30pm
3. 1 in 2 Saturdays 8:00am – 12:30pm
4. Overtime Available

Responsibilities for the Diagnostic Vehicle Technician role:
12. Carry out advanced vehicle diagnostics using manufacturer and aftermarket diagnostic equipment to accurately identify electrical, mechanical, and software-related faults.
13. Interpret fault codes, live data, wiring diagrams, and technical bulletins to determine root causes and produce clear diagnostic conclusions.
14. Complete detailed diagnostic reports outlining findings, recommended repairs, and required parts, ensuring accurate handover to the repair team.
15. Liaise with workshop controllers and technicians to provide technical guidance and support on complex fault-finding cases.
Ideal Candidate needed for the Diagnostic Vehicle Technician role:
16. Proven experience in using diagnostic systems
17. Qualified Vehicle Technician (Level 3 or equivalent preferred)
18. MOT licence preferred – training provided for the right candidate
19. A team player looking for a long-term role within a supportive team
