Maintenance Project Engineer - Days
A recognised high-volume manufacturer is currently looking to strengthen their Maintenance department with the appointment of a Maintenance Project Engineer.
As Maintenance Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and supporting maintenance department projects. The role involves both hands-on tasks and contractor management, depending on the project scale. Essential skills include project management, contractor control, and electrical and mechanical installation experience. When necessary, you may also support the maintenance facilities team.
Working from their manufacturing facility in Shropshire, the Maintenance Project Engineer will be responsible for:
1. Promoting company HSE policies across the department and plant, and adhering to all health, safety, and environmental policies.
2. Engaging in projects that improve plant health and safety.
3. Ensuring contractor RAMS and Permits are correct, updated, and followed.
4. Leading and managing projects to be completed on time, within budget, and to specifications.
5. Utilising project management tools to communicate and report project progress and obstacles clearly.
6. Leading and supporting cross-functional teams to deliver projects correctly the first time.
7. Supporting projects aimed at improving plant KPIs (OEE).
8. Delivering departmental capex projects.
9. Ensuring projects provide value for money and adopting a continuous improvement mindset to reduce waste.
The ideal candidate should have completed an apprenticeship in mechanical and/or electrical engineering or hold an HNC in an engineering discipline.
