Business Development Manager – Construction GVR Solutions are currently working in partnership with a well-established, medium-sized construction company based in Essex who are seeking a motivated Business Development Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing and reputable contractor with a strong track record across commercial, education, healthcare and public sector projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving new business and securing tender opportunities, particularly within London and the surrounding areas. The client are happy to look at Business Development professionals from other industries and/or sectors. They are more interested in finding the right person with the right attitude. This is a permanent, office-based role in Essex, with regular travel into London. You will be responsible for identifying new project leads, engaging with clients, consultants, and procurement bodies, and ultimately helping to secure new work for the business through tenders and frameworks. Key Responsibilities: * Identify and pursue new tender opportunities, particularly in London * Carry out business development visits and meetings with prospective clients * Make outbound cold and warm calls to build new business relationships * Follow up on leads, referrals, and previous contacts to generate new opportunities * Research and explore relevant frameworks and procurement routes * Develop and maintain relationships with developers, consultants, and stakeholders * Work closely with the pre-construction and estimating teams to ensure alignment on tender opportunities Candidate Requirements: * Proven background in business development within the construction industry * Strong understanding of the tendering process in both public and private sectors * Comfortable with outbound calling and face-to-face business development * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Proactive, self-motivated, and target-driven * Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to London Package Includes: * Competitive salary depending on experience * Commission structure based on performance * Company car or travel allowance * Opportunities for progression within a growing business * Supportive, team-oriented culture
