Senior Occupational Therapist Emergency Care
Be among the first 25 applicants
We are seeking an experienced, motivated clinician to join our team to cover maternity leave until 15th February 2026. You will be a registered Occupational Therapist with expertise in discharge planning, supporting patients to become experts in their own care and to remain in their own homes.
It is expected that you will have excellent communication skills, enjoy working with a variety of service users of different age groups, possess good self-management skills, and have the ability to prioritize your caseload. Ideally, you will have experience working in various clinical settings with knowledge of community challenges.
You will need to undertake weekend working as part of a seven-day service and undertake late shifts from 10:00 to 18:00, in addition to regular hours from 08:30 to 16:30.
If you do not meet the full requirements of Band 6, we will consider a Band 5 developmental to Band 6 progression.
Internal applicants employed by ESNEFT will be offered this role on a secondment basis, which should be discussed with your line manager.
The key objectives include providing rapid assessments in a fast-paced environment, formulating robust discharge plans, and working effectively with the wider MDT to problem-solve and support patients into their preferred place of care.
As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will have opportunities for leadership in planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating care, as well as supervising junior staff and students.
You should be able to build networks and relationships across different clinical teams, embrace innovation and integrated working, and be committed to delivering excellent care alongside other professionals such as OTs, Physiotherapists, and Practitioners.
