We are seeking a dedicated Commercial Gas Engineer to join our team at HMP Highpoint, a category C adult/male prison.

HMP Highpoint functions like a self-contained city, requiring hundreds of staff to operate smoothly. As part of the Facilities Maintenance Team, your work impacts every prisoner, employee, visitor, and the wider community, functioning like a heart pumping blood through the body.
As an Engineer - Combustion, you will collaborate with experienced colleagues including plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, cleaners, and administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference and providing a secure environment.

We are a Ministry of Justice business providing critical, time-sensitive services to HMPPS, seeking an Engineer - Combustion with the following qualifications:
1. At least two years of experience as a heating or combustion engineer or similar.
2. Familiarity with Water Supply Regulation and Legionella L8 requirements.
3. Knowledge of Gas Safe regulations (installation and use) 1998 and related standards.
4. Experience with commercial catering gas appliances is beneficial.
5. Plumber qualification to C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and Heating), and NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent.
6. Core domestic gas safety (CCN1) and relevant appliance certifications.
7. Core commercial gas safety (COCN1) and relevant commercial units.
8. Good health & safety knowledge.
9. Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
