Job Description:
Exciting opportunity!
We are looking for Casual Residential Workers to join our team supporting our dual children's homes in Wakefield.
You will work with and support children and young people aged between 8 to 17 years, including those requiring additional support for managing complex trauma.
We aim to provide warm, supportive, and homely placements to prevent breakdowns and ensure children remain in Wakefield, receiving the best care possible.
This role requires an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with good communication skills, organized, and confident in interactions with children and young people.
Previous experience with autism, SEN, trauma-informed practices, therapeutic caring, and connective parenting is desirable, but full training will be provided. It is essential to be kind, caring, patient, resilient, and understanding of behavioral needs.
You should be committed to improving the life chances of children and young people and share our ethos of never giving up.
You will hold an NVQ3 / Diploma in caring for children and young people or be willing to obtain this qualification within two years of employment.
You must hold a Full UK Driving Licence and be able to transport young people using the home car or your own vehicle with appropriate insurance.
Effective induction, supervision, and training will be provided. The work involves shift patterns, including weekends, sleep-ins, and bank holidays.
