Located in the heart of Exeter's city centre, one of the region's oldest pubs, we re-opened in 2021 with a reputation for an engaging and fun team and a vibrant atmosphere. We craft premium food from fresh, seasonal ingredients in our on-site microbrewery-based operation, offer 6 boutique bedrooms, and provide a varied pub menu with a Turkish-inspired twist. As Head Chef, you will write your own recipes to match the food vision of the business using fresh seasonal ingredients and lead a kitchen that supports the pub's diverse revenue streams.
Being a Head Chef at Young's means you will set the vision for the kitchen, create menus that showcase local produce, and continuously evolve the menu to highlight ingredients at their best. You will lead with creativity, maintain high standards, and ensure the kitchen runs smoothly.

What we look for in a Head Chef
This role requires someone who can inspire a team, develop, cost, and produce fresh seasonal menus for the variety of revenue streams within the business.
* Experience championing excellent service through quality food as a Head Chef or Sous Chef
* Passion for leading and developing a team
* Active hands-on team player with excellent communication skills
* Responsible and able to manage the kitchen staff rota, training, and all health and safety effectively
* Creativity to design and deliver new dishes for menus and daily specials
* Strong planning and organisational skills to maintain controls on GP and labour
* Pro-active approach to driving sales and growth through engagement with kitchen and front-of-house teams
