We have an exciting opporunity for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join the team at Ventrica! Key Accountablities: You will be responsible for providing 1st Line Support. You will support the IT team in network administration, covering all areas of analysis, specification, design, upgrade and mitigation along with supporting the smooth running of the business. Respond to network connectivity issues. Collaborate with third-party support and service vendors to ensure that the network stays operational. Maximise system performance and availability by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimisation. Support, maintain, and enhance the Ventrica service stacks hosted both on-premise and in Microsoft Azure. Support in maintaining security best practices aligned to ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and Cyber Essentials. What You'll be doing: Maintenance of Ventrica infrastructure (network, storage, servers) to provide continual service for internal and external servers, applications and development. Responsible for site security and resilience, backup and archiving, anti-virus and Disaster Recovery. Participation in hardware and software product selection. Writing system documentation and specifications. Providing level 3 technical support and in-depth problem-solving capabilities. To provide the best possible environment for both internal and external network infrastructure. To ensure that all regulatory guidelines are adhered to, for example PCI. Support and administer firewall environments in line with IT security policy. Upgrade data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases. Configure routing and switching equipment, hosted IP voice services and firewalls. Design and implement new solutions and improve resilience of the current environment. Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access. Report network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and managing projects. Liaise with project management teams, third-line engineers and service desk engineers on a regular basis. Collaborate with third-party support and service vendors to ensure that the network and systems stay operational. Building and administering Windows Servers in Hyper-V and Azure environments What You'll Bring: Essential Proven Knowledge of firewall and router technologies. Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools. Proven Knowledge of Windows Server 2016 up to and including 2022 and Windows 11 Proven knowledge of Internet and Network technologies. Windows IIS. Active Directory administration in a multi-site environment (including Azure AD) DNS/DHCP technologies and methodology. Security concepts and their implementation. Experience in an on-site support role, involving desk side support, software and infrastructure. Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources. Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools. Desirable Previous experience working as an Infrastructure engineer or in 2nd line support. AWS Amazon Connect Relevant IT Certifications/qualifications. Hyper-V. Nerdio (Microsoft Cloud Management Platform) Zendesk (Customer Service Platform) Twilio (Cloud Communication Platform) Working Hours: Full time - 37.5 hours per week, between 9:00am and 5:30pm There is a requirement to work on call on a rota basis with the team covering weekends and overnights we are a 24/7 operation, usually this would be 1 in every 3 weeks.
