About the role
The department of Building Services is looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Electrical Installation Programme Leader. This dynamic and rewarding role involves working closely with Programme Leaders, Heads of areas to deliver high‑quality teaching and learning experiences to our students.
Key responsibilities
* Planning and delivering engaging lessons across a range of Electrical Installation topics, aligned with industry standards and curriculum requirements.
* Supporting learners through their academic journey, including tutorials, progress reviews, Maths and English development, and pastoral care.
* Responding to student and parent queries via phone, email, and in person.
* Maintaining accurate records of student progress, attendance, and assessments.
* Using data and digital systems to monitor performance and contribute to curriculum development.
* Participating in departmental meetings, parents’ evenings, and college events to support student success and employer engagement.
About the person
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills with a strong focus on learner engagement and professional standards. They will be well‑organised, proactive, and committed to delivering high‑quality teaching and learning in Electrical Installation.
Essential criteria
* Level 2/GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
* Recognised Electrical Installation qualification at Level 3 or above.
* Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training).
* Industry experience within the electrical sector.
* Competence in using ICT to support teaching, learning, and assessment.
* Ability to analyse learner data and contribute to progress tracking and reporting.
