University Hospitals Dorset is newly formed by a merger of Poole Hospital and Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals. The post is based mainly in the Eye Centre at RBH, the designated major acute and emergency hospital in Dorset.
Responsibilities
* Provide ophthalmic care in glaucoma, cataract and eye emergency services.
* Teach and mentor junior staff.
* Participate in clinical audit and governance.
* Undertake management duties and work in a multidisciplinary team.
* Pursue clinical research opportunities.
Qualifications
* Principal interest in glaucoma with experience in cataract, glaucoma and eye emergency care.
* Must be on the GMC specialist register or have a certificate of completion of specialist training within six months of the interview date.
* Ability to work on the 1 in 8 second on‑call rota.
* Desire to teach and to participate in audit, governance and research.
