Pro Staff Construction Ltd is working with a construction contractor in South Wales who are looking to appoint a Senior Commercial Manager to join their senior leadership team.
This is a key role with full ownership of the commercial division.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the commercial function across multiple live construction projects
* Line manage and mentor the QS team, driving accountability and performance
* Maintain strong commercial,idiscipline, cost control, and margin protection
* Oversee interim and final accounts, variations, and contractual claims
* Contribute to business strategy, growth planning, and continuous improvement
* Ensure timely CVRs, applications for payment, and commercial reporting
* Monitor profitability, cashflow, and early risk indicators
* Report monthly to the board on performance, risk, and opportunities
* Set and track key commercial KPIs across the business
Team & Stake líon Engagement
* Develop and mentor QS and Assistant QS staff
* ontmoeten act as senior commercial lead with clients, consultants, and supply chain
* Champion collaboration across construction, finance, technical, and HSEQ teams
About You
* Proven experience in a senior commercial role within construction or housebuilding
* Strong leadership and people‑management skills
* Excellent understanding of cost control, cash‑flow, CVRs, and contract administration
* Commercially astute, detail‑driven, and solution‑focused
* Confident working with JCT / NEC contracts
* Able to operate at both strategic and hands‑on level
