Job Title: Trainee Lecturer / Lecturer in Chemistry
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Halesowen College for a Lecturer in Chemistry. In this role, you will work towards and deliver effective learning, teaching, and assessments that provide a high-quality experience to enthusiastic students passionate about the subject.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced, qualified lecturer, to join a growing and popular Science department. The Science department is a large and diverse team offering courses including A Level Sciences, Level 3 Applied Science, Level 2 Applied Science, L1 Applied Science, and successful Access to HE courses. The department features bespoke labs; the successful candidate will teach on a range of subjects and courses, including our L1, L2, and L3 Vocational Applied Science courses focusing on Chemistry units.

What does a Trainee Lecturer position entail?
Your training needs will be assessed and funded, particularly your studies toward achieving the Diploma in Education and Training (DET). The qualification in teaching will provide a practical introduction and a gradual build-up of your skills and knowledge. This will include job shadowing and, where appropriate, industrial updating to enhance your knowledge in this specialist area. Time will be allocated within your contracted hours for training.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to attain a professional teaching qualification as part of the role, including ongoing professional development.
