About the RoleA supportive and inclusive primary school in Sefton is seeking an experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work closely with a pupil who requires additional support. This is a full-time, long-term role starting after Easter, ideal for someone who is patient, nurturing, andmitted to making a meaningful impact on a child’s educational journey.You will provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day, helping the pupil access learning, regulate emotions, and develop confidence both academically and socially.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Providing tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with additional learning needs
2. Assisting the class teacher in implementing personalised learning strategies
3. Supporting the pupil during lessons, transitions, and breaktimes
4. Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting emotional well-being
5. Helping to adapt resources to ensure accessibility
6. Working closely with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals when needed
7. Monitoring progress and contributing to support plans
The Ideal Candidate
8. Experience working 1:1 with children who have additional needs is essential.
9. Qualifications such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificates are desirable.
10. Understanding of SEND strategies and inclusive practice
11. Patient, calm, andpassionate approach
12. Ability to build a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil
13. Strong teamwork andmunication skills
