Overview
At STERIS, we help our Customers create a healthier and safer world by providing innovative healthcare and life science product and service solutions around the globe.
The role requires the completion of all production tasks including, but not limited to, inspection, packing, boxing, labelling and the operation of production machinery. The post holder will be responsible for manufacturing the products in accordance with the standard work procedures and completing manufacturing documents. This position requires employees to rotate weekly on a 6:00-14:00 & 14:00-22:00 shifts, Monday – Friday.
Responsibilities
* Operate production machinery to produce the business’s range of products on a range of machinery.
* Carry out all manual packing/boxing activities.
* Perform and document product inspections.
* Perform safety checks on forklift trucks and operate forklifts.
* Use the company ERP system to perform stock transactions.
* Carry out 6S and ensure the workplace is kept clean and tidy.
* Safely use mechanical aids such as manual and powered pallet trucks.
* Understand the requirements of the organisation’s Quality Assurance systems and update out of date or ineffective processes as required.
* Undertake training / personal development to enable competent performance of all tasks.
* Deputise for the supervisor when requested.
Additional Duties
* Provide support across the production departments as needed.
* Support lean objectives and participate in lean activities to support business goals.
* Undertake training in manufacturing processes to demonstrate competency and train co-workers.
* Represent the company with high integrity both internally and externally.
Education
* High School Diploma or GED
Experience
* Required: GCSE level education or equivalent, or at least 1 year of experience in manufacturing; basic computer skills; ability to work in a team and independently; excellent attention to detail; comply with health and safety guidelines; ability to operate machinery after training; ability to perform repetitive tasks; ability to read and complete quality documentation; proactive and self-starting.
* Preferred: knowledge of lean manufacturing; basic computer skills in MS Office and manufacturing programs; FLT License.
