MECHANICAL IMPROVER
A vacancy has arisen for a Mechanical Improver to join our Engineering team.
This is an entry-level position ideal for individuals who have recently completed formal mechanical training or education but lack hands-on experience. The Mechanical Improver will support qualified engineers on-site, gaining practical skills and knowledge whilst working alongside experienced professionals.
The role briefly encompasses the following duties: -
Assist in the maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical components and systems.
Work alongside experienced technicians to troubleshoot mechanical faults.
Support planned maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency.
Learn and follow industry standards, health & safety regulations, and best practices.
Participate in training programs to develop mechanical knowledge and practical skills.
Maintain accurate records of work carried out and report any issues to senior team members.
Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing mechanical performance.
Travel and weekend work may be required.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience/ attributes:-
Education: A recent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (e.g., diploma, degree, NVQ).
Skills: Strong willingness to learn, good problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and effective communication.
Desirable: Basic knowledge of mechanical components, regulations, and safe working practices.
Personal Attributes: Enthusiastic, proactive, reliable, and able to work well in a team environment.
