If you are unfamiliar with these requirements, please seek the advice of legal counsel.Control Engineer (12 months fixed term/secondment) page is loaded## Control Engineer (12 months fixed term/secondment)locations: Stepps, Glasgowtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todaytime left to apply: End Date: October 30, 2025 (14 days left to apply)job requisition id: R10956**Together we are Trusted to Serve Scotland.****Shift Control Room Operator** **(12 months secondment/fixed term)** to join our Intelligent Control Centre (ICC), providing continuous management and control of assets through the use of control systems, and monitoring & response to telemetry alarms.You’ll ensure the management and maintenance of specific operational assets remotely, including forward planning, out of hours support and mobilisation of personnel as required, correct response to all telemetry alarms that arrive into the ICC.**What you’ll do**You’ll contribute to continuous improvement by reviewing current operations and identifying enhancements in your area of work. You’ll analyse data trends using internal systems, applying judgement to determine correct decision making.You will follow standard operating procedures, promptly addressing issues, and escalating concerns to internal stakeholders as needed to ensure swift resolution.You’ll ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.In infrastructure and network maintenance, you’ll assist with incident logging and systems monitoring, to maintain smooth operations.Your role includes managing scheduled maintenance resources, prioritising tasks based on urgency, and ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory codes. You’ll support operational management by following established processes.**What you’ll need**You’ll need a can-do attitude, able to operate multiple systems at once, follow standard operate procedures, whilst prioritising health and safety of assets and people.You’ll be able to adapt to a dynamic environment where flexibility and responsiveness are key. Your ability to manage time effectively and maintain productivity during different shifts will be crucial for the success of our team. If you’re new to Scottish Water, you’ll join us on a starting salary of £30,440. Performance-driven pay progression would then allow you to move through the range to a maximum of £35,260.
